Health Innovation Yorkshire and Humber (formerly, the Academic Health Science Network) acts as a bridge between health care providers, commissioners, academia and industry to help build a pipeline of solutions for the NHS from research and product development through to implementation and commercialisation, specifically:
- guides the health and care workforce as they introduce new ways to make care safer and better for patients,
- introduces healthcare organisations to industry innovators and entrepreneurs to generate new business opportunities and economic growth, and
- works with the life science sector and academic researchers to help focus their efforts on meeting genuine healthcare needs.
