Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of specialist mental health and learning disability services in Leeds and provides specialist services across the North of England.
As well as generating high quality research with a focus on mental health, learning disabilities and neurodiversity, LYPFT provides important pathways to train and recruit qualified healthcare staff, especially via its Medical Education Centre. The Trust works in partnership with Health Education England Yorkshire and the Humber, West Yorkshire Foundation School and the University of Leeds to provide high quality clinical training for medical students, doctors in training at all stages of their careers, as well as for GP trainees.The Trust offers apprenticeships to upskill its workforce and generate a pipeline of homegrown talent, as well as T levels which are designed to give students a faster route into healthcare and kick-start a career in the NHS.
As a large employer in the city, LYPFT is part of the Leeds Anchors Network (LAN), helping people into higher education and employment.
